Most of today's worst invasive terrestrial plant species arrived as ornamental additions to gardens and landscapes. A key factor in keeping invasive plants out of our natural areas is to place non-invasive plants into our landscaping. By being Wise on Weeds, you will ensure that what you display will stay in your garden.
Join other interested VAPH members in these informative workshops and stay ahead of the curve on this important topic. The overall goal is to educate ourselves and our customers about how even some fairly common and well-known ornamentals can adversely affect the natural environment. There are plenty of great alternatives to chose from as we learn just which non-native invasives are having a significant impact on Vermont's natural ecosystems.
